| In each of the draft science syllabuses, the five key skills are embedded in learning outcomes. Each learning outcome contains an action verb which describes what learners should be able to do. The learning outcomes are broadly spread over six major categories, with the simplest behaviour at level 1 and the most complex at level 6. The levels are hierarchical; for example, in order for a learner to be able to analyse a concept (level 4) he or she must know the concept (level1), be able to explain it (level2), and apply their understanding of it (level 3) to the analysis. |
